How Volli integrated trunks with Henry Ford College's CCaaS providers and eliminated hidden carrier charges.

How Metro Wireless deployed its SIP solution with Henry Ford College's CCaaS providers and eliminated hidden carrier charges — when the college's phone bill was quietly being inflated by double billing it never should have paid.
⎙ Download PDFHenry Ford College, a leading educational institution, relies on its call center to support students, faculty, and staff. But the college's communication expenses had grown out of step with the actual value it was receiving — driven largely by charges from its CCaaS (Contact Center as a Service) providers and a billing issue with its incumbent carrier that no one had caught.
The college brought in Volli to get to the bottom of it. After a close review of the college's call center architecture and carrier billing, Volli identified two compounding problems and moved to fix both.
Henry Ford College's phone bill was high, and not for reasons that added value to the college's operations. Two issues were driving up costs:
Volli went straight at both problems at once.
Integrated trunks with the CCaaS providers. Volli collaborated directly with Henry Ford College's CCaaS providers to integrate their trunks, eliminating the additional phone charges those providers had been generating.
Rate center optimization. Volli identified exactly where the incumbent carrier's long-distance rate centers were causing double charging, and corrected it — cutting out a significant source of unnecessary expense in one move.
Together, these two fixes meant the college was finally billed solely for the actual call center service it used — nothing extra layered on top.
The impact showed up directly on the college's bottom line, and in the day-to-day relationship with Volli's team.
Communication costs are often inflated by billing structures institutions never chose and rarely have the visibility to catch. By integrating trunks directly with CCaaS providers and correcting carrier rate-center errors, Volli shows that meaningful savings frequently come not from switching providers, but from fixing what's broken in the billing itself.

Volli has been by far one of the absolute best companies I have dealt with in 20 years of working in technology. They absolutely put the customer first, and their tech people have always gone out of their way to provide excellent customer service. What makes it more remarkable is that these guys have been exactly the same since day one. I feel truly fortunate to be one of their customers, and they'd be a bargain at any price.
